Wills and trusts are common ways to protect your loved ones and plan for the way your property and assets will be distributed at death.
A will makes guardianship provisions for children and instructs the executor and the court to distribute property and assets according to your wishes. With a trust, a trustee manages your assets until the terms and conditions of your trust have been met.
Seems simple, but one mistake can wipe out a lifetime of savings, or worse, put the fate of your children in doubt. It’s nothing to leave to a novice, or someone who sees your will or trust as just another business transaction.
